I’ve ordered several pieces from Honeylove in recent months and I’ve been nothing short of impressed by the products, which included the SuperPower Short, Low-Back Bodysuit, and CrossOver Bra with matching briefs.
I was in the market for a camisole that would work underneath a white peasant blouse my mom planned to wear to a renaissance fair, since it was lightweight and little too sheer to wear the white cami she already owned. I immediately thought of Honeylove, so when I ordered a cami for her, of course I had to get one for myself.
I chose the LiftWear Cami specifically because of the lower coverage and the thinner straps, compared to the LiftWear Tank.
Unsurprisingly, the LiftWear Cami is pretty close to perfect, for both of us.
The Honeylove LiftWear Cami at a Glance
- Available in sizes XS through 4X, this cami has a built-in, molded wireless bra that provides lift and natural shaping that’s similar to an underwire, without one.
- X-compression through the abdomen helps to shape your back and abdomen without suffocating your midsection.
- The bottom hem of the LiftWear Cami has a silicone grip that helps to keep it anchored without rolling up during wear.
- Like a bra, adjustable straps make it easy to customize your fit; similarly to the CrossOver bra, the back straps detach so you can wear them criss-cross if you prefer.
- Beneath wedding gowns or formal wear, this cami is best for necklines that are scoop, square, high, or (some) V-neck, as long as the plunge isn’t too deep.
- The LiftWear Cami is a medium-compression shaper that generally hits about mid-hip (or so).

(Spoiler Alert: It’s all good.)
My Experience with the Honeylove LiftWear Cami
I was excited to try the Cami because I already love the CrossOver bra and am starting to get used to a life free from underwires.
That’s a pretty big deal for me. I never actually imagined that would be possible, yet here I am.
The LiftWear cami features a sleek and flattering design that basically doubles as a bra with built-in shapewear for your abdomen. It’s not quite the compression level of the SuperPower Short through the midriff, however, I find it provides just enough contouring and support to flatter my figure while letting me stay comfortable.
Just look at that. I feel amazing in this piece. (That’s my “serious model” face… but I swear I’m happy!)
I appreciate that the molded cups are removable if you decide that you want them out of your life, although they are very thin. This cami doesn’t really add any padding, especially if you (like me) don’t need it.
The back of the cami extends fairly low, and a lot lower than I expected, so it can accommodate most of my tops and blouses without ever being visible.
Plus, like the CrossOver Bra, the back straps are detachable so they can be worn criss-cross underneath tank tops or dresses that have an “X” cut in the back.
Personally, this is great because most of my tank tops have that type of styling in the back.
As flattering as it is, the LiftWear Cami is technically shapewear, so it’s stretchy but with medium compression. When the weather is warmer and you’re a little sweaty, or if you’re fresh from the shower and your skin is a little damp, it can be slightly difficult to put on.
If you’ve ever put on a wet swimsuit or a bra that’s not completely dry, you’ll know what I mean. If your skin is at all damp, the cami rolls a bit and sticks to you (and itself) as you’re pulling it down past your shoulders and breasts. My advice? Make sure you dry off completely before putting it on, or do it in a cool room if it’s a hot, humid day.
(Live and learn, right?)
The one thing I would change about the LiftWear Cami, and it really has nothing to do with the construction or design and everything to do with aesthetics, is that I wish it was available in more “fun” colors than it currently is.
As of this writing, the available colors are Vamp (black), Sand (beige), Runway (black, with sheer panels), Astral (white), Blush (warm light beige), Navy (dark blue), Espresso (dark brown), Rose Tan (pink-beige), and Fig (maroon).
Don’t get me wrong, they’re all wonderful and I’m especially partial to Fig because I love reds and purples, but it’d be great if it could be made available in more colors, especially for layering beneath shirts or worn alone.
(Yeah, I’m dropping little hints right now, but I’d totally be down for a forest green, plum, or sexy cherry red.)
That said, I really appreciate that there are several “skin tone” shades to accommodate more bodies, and the sizing on this goes up to 4X.
Overall, this cami is amazing and I can already tell it’s going to become a staple in my wardrobe.
LiftWear Cami Pros
- The design is smoothing, like light shapewear, but it’s incredibly comfortable and you never feel compressed or suffocated.
- Although wire-free, the LiftWear Cami features soft molded cups that provide a surprising amount of support, even for all day wear.
- The material used in the construction of the LiftWear Cami is lightweight and breathable, so it’s comfortable even in the summertime.
- The bottom of the cami doesn’t roll up, and it’s long enough to accommodate those with longer torsos.
- The straps detach in the back so you can criss-cross them if needed or preferred.
- It’s available in several skin tone shades for easier matching when you need it.
- Honeylove’s on-page quizlet will help you discern your perfect size before you purchase.
- As with all purchases at Honeylove, you have 30 days to process a return or exchange (for free) if the cami doesn’t fit perfectly or it simply doesn’t work for you. Note: Purchase directly from the Honeylove website to ensure easy and stress-free returns!
LiftWear Cami Cons
- For those who absolutely need or prefer an underwire, the LiftWear Cami from Honeylove only has soft molded cups.
- Although camis are often worn layered under clothing, they are cute when worn by themselves in the summer; the LiftWear Cami is only available in a couple “fashion” colors, skin-tone shades, white, and black, and (currently) no prints.
- If the weather is warm or you’re fresh from the shower, the cami can be a little tricky to get on, since it is firm shapewear that has to go over your head, shoulders, and breasts.
- If your torso is on the short side, this may be longer than you like, potentially reaching your hips if pulled to be worn smoothly through the abdomen.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re looking for something to wear under a formal gown or casual clothing, the Liftwear Cami from Honeylove offers beautiful contouring, smoothing, and support right where you need it, and in comfort.
I think it’s perfect beneath wedding gowns that only need shaping from shoulder to hip, and ideally those with a scoop, square, high, or (shallow) V-necks. That said, once you’ve got this piece in your wardrobe, you’re gonna find all kinds of outfits to pair it with. I know I did!
