Honeylove Shapewear Review

My Full Honeylove Shapewear Review: Does It Really Sculpt and Smooth?

I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with shapewear. I love the slimming support that good pieces can offer, but I hate feeling as though I’m having the life squeezed out of me while I’m wearing it.

And it can be hard, if not impossible, to find a “holy grail” shaper that makes me look amazing and also lets me eat and live my life in comfort.

But I think I finally found it in Honeylove.

I have a few weddings coming up so I tried a few different pieces with varied compression levels and I’ll tell you everything about my experience, good and bad, and whether it’s worth the price tag.

(Spoiler alert: it is.)

The very best things about Honeylove:

  • Carries a wide range of products including bras, tanks, camis, underwear, shorts, and full bodysuit shapewear to suit any preference or outfit, with sizing up to 4X.
  • Each product lists the support level and all the important details to know about it before you buy.
  • A quizlet available on each product page can assist you in finding your perfect size if you ever feel unsure.
  • Returns and exchanges are easy (and free within the US) and you have 30 days to initiate that process if needed.
  • Free shipping on orders over $100.
  • The brand has a solid reputation for shapewear innovation that prioritizes comfort and effectiveness without sacrificing style.
  • The website features models of all sizes so you can actually see how the shapewear looks on a variety of body types.

My Experience

Overall, I recommend shopping at Honeylove if you’re in the market for shapewear or underthings that’ll make you feel confident beneath your clothing, so I’m gonna take you through my entire experience—starting at the beginning.

For reference, I’m 5’5” and generally wear a size 14 to 16.

Shopping at Honeylove

Browsing Honeylove’s website is a joy because it’s easy to navigate, there aren’t a bunch of annoying pop-ups, and the products are easy to find by category. It might sound silly to mention, but if you shop online frequently, you know how much that actually matters, right?

Although there isn’t a “shop by support” feature that lets you filter products based on what you’re trying to achieve (hourglass figure, tummy support, thigh slimming, etc.), they do have a FAQ and a really extensive Answers section if you’ve got questions about bras.

(Did you know that the first bra came about in 1869? Neither did I.)

When I started my Honeylove shopping, I already kind of knew what I wanted to get: a bodysuit shaper, shorts, and a bra and underwear set. I figured those would collectively provide a good range of options no matter what outfit I’d wear them under, whether a formal dress, casual wear, or somewhere in-between.

I also wanted to get a waist cincher but Honeylove no longer carries one as of this writing. I was bummed about that, not gonna lie, and I hope they bring one back someday because I’ll be first in line for it.

Ordering shapewear online is tricky because although websites will offer the typical sizing charts and guidance, it’s still hard to be 100% sure before you pull the trigger. Honeylove gets it, and they actually provide a short (but optional) quizlet on each product page that takes you through a series of questions to help you find the right size.

Clicking on the “Find My Size” text will open the mini-quiz, which asks:

  • What is your dress size? (0 to 24)
  • What is your waist measurement? (28” to 47”)
  • What is your bra size? (30” to 48” band; A to G cup)
  • What is your body shape? (triangle, rectangle, hourglass, oval; plus brief descriptions for each if you don’t know)
  • How tall are you? (5’0 or below to 6’0 or above)
  • Optional (but confidential!): What is your weight?

After you answer everything, Honeylove’s size recommendation pops up and includes a button to select the product in that size if you agree.

I love that because it really helps to remove the guesswork.

(And if you do get the wrong size or something doesn’t fit perfectly, you’ve got 30 days to exchange or return, for free.)

In my case, the product sizing recommendations were correct across the board.

The Product Arrival

Shipping was pretty quick and Honeylove kept me up-to-date on the status of my order, but one thing to note is that the brand’s name and logo appear on the outside of the packaging.

That doesn’t personally bother me, but it’s worth mentioning in case it’s a concern.

Everything I purchased was packaged nicely and my order included a free lingerie bag for laundering the items.

Honeylove Shapewear Fit and Results

I bought the Low-Back Bodysuit, SuperPower Short, and Crossover bra with matching brief, so let’s take a look at each.

Honeylove Low-Back Bodysuit Review

I admit that I was most “worried” about the fit on this one because typically, if something fits my waist the way it’s supposed to, it’s too tight in the chest. And if it fits my chest, then it’s too big for my waist.

Such is the strife of the hourglass-figure-girls, right?

The Low-Back Bodysuit fits me everywhere, beautifully, and it’s so unbelievably comfortable. The support through the waist and tummy is moderate and I think I could have selected one size down for more compression (but if I did, I fear the breast cups would be too small).

As it stands, in the XL I purchased, the bodysuit is smoothing, lightweight, and feels like I’m wearing next to nothing yet somehow fully supported. Like some kind of magic. The open back is perfect for summer dresses, formal wear, and any outfit that I won’t want to wear a visible bra with.

The only potential downside is that there is a learning curve to using the bathroom while wearing shapewear with an open gusset.

Thankfully, there’s a helpful video for that!

(I recommend practicing at home, just in case. It looks easier than it is but once you’ve got it mastered, you’re good to go. Literally and figuratively.)

For all-day wear, this bodysuit offers breathable comfort and lightweight smoothing with a barely-there feel against my skin. It’s a new favorite I didn’t know I needed.

Honeylove SuperPower Short Review

When it comes to shapewear, I don’t really care much about thigh slimming, but I prefer shorts that hit at least the mid-thigh to prevent chafing under dresses or skirts. I also need moderate to heavy support through the tummy area.

The SuperPower Short from Honeylove checks all those boxes and fits like an absolute dream once it’s on.

I had to do an extensive shimmy-shimmy-wiggle-jump dance to slide them over my hips before tugging on them like I was auditioning for a role in Nacho Libre just to pull them upward across my midsection. It was a workout, but the seams and overall construction are built for that.

Give yourself some extra time to get ready on days when you plan to wear these.

Still, once the shorts are on all the way, I feel slimmed and VERY well supported.

The benefit to high-waisted shaper shorts is that the top of the band generally hits just under the bust so you can wear any bra of choice with them, essentially turning the ensemble into a custom two-piece bodysuit.

And since this shapewear is a pair of shorts, you can (and should!) use the open gusset instead of pulling them down like underwear when you need to use the bathroom.
Pro tip: The gusset is a must when you’re wearing a formal dress that’s fitted through the waist because trying to pull the shorts back into place underneath it can be a challenge and a half.

Honeylove Crossover Bra & Matching Brief Review

I need to preface this by mentioning that I am VERY particular about bras and hate shopping for them. Once I finally find one that fits and looks exactly as I need it to, I generally stick to only that bra model until it inevitably gets discontinued.

And I always wear bras with an underwire.

Still, I’d never say never to a non-wire bra if it manages to look and feel good.

I probably won’t give up my go-to underwire, but the Honeylove’s Crossover Bra is the first soft-cup bra that’s made its way into my rotation. I’m large-breasted and need all the support I can possibly get, but the fit, feel, support, and style are absolutely spot-on.

And it’s wireless.

I took the liberty of removing the padding from the cups because I find the bra to be much more comfortable without it and at a 38 DD, I really don’t need the extra bulk up top. The band has a stiff, somewhat “papery” thick feel to it, which took a little getting used to, but I assume it’s because the bra is designed to support everything without an underwire.

The matching briefs offer light shaping and full coverage, which I appreciate since I tend to favor boy shorts or hipsters. The fit is perfect and they don’t roll down during wear.

This is the first set of matching undies I’ve owned in more than 15 years and I think I can get used to this

Honeylove Pros & Cons

No shapewear is absolutely perfect and Honeylove has its share of pros and cons, but the former greatly outweighs the latter.

Pros

  • Offers a full range of shapewear options to suit just about any outfit whether you’re shopping for your wedding, honeymoon, casual events, or day-to-day wear.
  • The on-site quizlet that assists you in your size selection is thorough, and in my case, accurate.
  • Carries sizes XS to 4X.
  • Free shipping on orders over $100 within the US.
  • Free returns or exchanges within the US for 30 days.
  • Orders arrive with a free lingerie bag for laundering.

Cons

  • Packages arrive with “Honeylove” stamped on them so everyone knows where it came from if they’re familiar with the company.
  • There are no standalone waist cincher or strapless shapewear options (as of this writing).
  • Although Honeylove carries shapewear up to 4X, not every product offers that complete size range; many stop at 3X.
  • Products that offer strong compression or support might be difficult to shimmy into, even when they’re the right size.

Closing Thoughts

Overall, I’ve become a loyal fan of Honeylove. I’m already planning to order another low-back bodysuit because that is a piece I’m going to be wearing a lot.

I love everything I purchased, even the shorts that give me a mini-workout.

Although Honeylove has a higher price point compared to other brands, they’re worth the investment.

And so are you.
