A lot of pink and purple moissanite are colored through a coating process, which should be permanent with “normal” everyday wear, but can fade or scratch under harsh conditions. These stones should be treated more delicately than colorless stones.

Cubic zirconia can be vulnerable to chipping, and it easily picks up dirt and oil which can make the stone cloudy or discolored over time.
